Charon's Ghost

Backstory

Was never a man named Charon. He was originally a mortal scribe who recorded every oath broken among the gods; Zeus struck him dumb but not before he copied every divine secret into clay tablets. His punishment was to tend the Forgotten River beneath the Styx, where unnamed souls flow toward oblivion. When Prometheus revealed how to reforge oaths into physical form, he learned to pull forgotten names from silt and give them respite from erasure. Too remembered to stay down below, too forgotten to live above it.
